Change and Project Management Officer

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is seeking a Change and Project Management Officer to support its Service Management Section. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Secretary for Programme Support, the officer will help align ESCWA’s operations with evolving mandates and lead transformation initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design operational responses for major transformation projects and ensure alignment with multidisciplinary mandates.
• Represent ESCWA in inter‑agency meetings on operational support, business services, innovation and change management.
• Capture and document project scope, business requirements, deliverables, resource estimates and timelines; monitor progress against plans.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices, proposing innovative solutions for operational support and business transformation.
• Ensure ESCWA’s business model stays aligned with changing mandates and Secretariat-wide initiatives.
• Develop and deliver training and guidance on project and change management for clusters and teams.
• Lead the Service Management Section in developing a common strategy, workplan and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating large‑scale change and project management initiatives, preferably within an international or multilateral organization.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities, capable of representing the organization in high‑level meetings.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across diverse teams and cultures.
