Auto Body Technician – Flat Rate

About the role

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience by accurately assessing damage and performing high‑quality repairs that return each vehicle to its pre‑accident condition. Working closely with the team, the technician helps meet repair facility KPIs and serves as a brand ambassador for The Boyd Group.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
• Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
• Hammer out dents, apply filler resins, and perform chassis or frame realignment.
• Remove damaged panels and replace them with new or aftermarket parts, including glass, windshields, and interior components.
• Weld, fit, and attach parts, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint.
• Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure quality and compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of vehicle body repair methods and tool usage.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lb, bend, stretch, kneel, and work in noisy, odorous environments.
