Associate Provost for Academic Affairs

About the role

The Associate Provost for Academic Affairs provides senior leadership for the university’s academic governance, policies and quality assurance. Reporting to the Provost, the incumbent ensures alignment of academic structures, curriculum management, compliance and student pathways with the institution’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Provost in developing, implementing and monitoring academic policies, procedures and strategic initiatives.
• Define governance rules for academic systems, including curriculum structures, degree requirements and academic records, in coordination with Academic Operations and IT services.
• Support digital transformation of academic processes and promote efficient use of academic systems for planning, monitoring and reporting.
• Oversee curriculum development, revision and approval processes, ensuring regulatory compliance before final institutional approval.
• Ensure coherence across academic units by enforcing standardized workflows and decision criteria.
• Validate academic compliance frameworks against MEHE requirements and sign‑off on regulatory submissions.
• Monitor regulatory developments in higher education and align institutional practices accordingly.
• Manage foundational and bridging programs to support student readiness and continuous improvement of these offerings.
• Supervise the Admission and Transfer Committee, ensuring fair and consistent admission and credit transfer decisions.
• Coordinate with academic units and enrollment management on student pathways and articulation mechanisms.
