Associate Principal – Power Distribution

About the role

The Associate Principal – Power Distribution will lead design teams and oversee the delivery of power distribution projects for K&A. Acting as the main technical counterpart to Project Managers, the role involves client interaction, design validation, and coordination across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design teams throughout the delivery of power distribution projects.
• Conduct client discussions to define design criteria, budgets, and project requirements.
• Develop and present concept, schematic, and final designs, including all required drawings and reports.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts with Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Transportation and other disciplines.
• Drive value‑engineering activities and obtain approvals for design deliverables.
• Work with Quantity Surveying on tender documents and support the tender process.
• Review and check design deliverables, perform quality checks and peer reviews.
• Support work‑program development, budgeting, scheduling, risk management and subcontractor coordination.
• Prepare periodic project progress reports and provide design support during construction supervision.
• Represent K&A on power distribution matters, present outcomes to clients and assist business development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 12+ years of experience in power transmission and distribution infrastructure design.
• Proven track record managing large, complex power/distribution design projects.
• Significant experience in the Middle East and exposure to global best practices.
• Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution design requirements, environmental policies and international engineering standards.
