Associate Comptroller, Investments & Portfolio Reporting

About the role

The Finance Corporate Affairs Department seeks an Associate Comptroller to support investment accounting, reporting, and portfolio oversight for the university. Based mainly on the Beirut campus, the role works closely with the Assistant Vice President for Finance and the Chief Investment Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Review investment agreements and ensure compliance with financial, accounting, contractual, and U.S. tax requirements.
• Coordinate and execute approved investment transactions such as capital calls, subscriptions, redemptions, and fund transfers.
• Maintain accurate investment records and reconcile balances in the university’s financial systems.
• Prepare periodic performance, liquidity, exposure, and portfolio analyses, including returns and benchmark comparisons.
• Monitor the portfolio against the Investment Policy and strategic asset allocation, escalating material deviations.
• Support the CIO with manager monitoring, due diligence, asset‑allocation analysis, and rebalancing assessments.
• Create dashboards, briefing materials, and presentations for senior management, the Investment Committee, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain financial controls over investment operations and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, custodians, and investment managers.

Required profile

• Experience in investment accounting, financial reporting, and portfolio analysis.
• Familiarity with investment operations, cash movements, and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with senior finance and investment leaders.
