AI Engineer – LLMs & Autonomous Agents

About the role

Applied Medical is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI‑powered applications that leverage large language models for reasoning, planning and autonomous decision‑making. The role focuses on building autonomous agents that can interact with APIs, databases and tools, and orchestrate complex end‑to‑end workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, fine‑tune and deploy LLM‑based applications for reasoning, planning, retrieval and automation.
• Build autonomous AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or AutoGen, integrating them with external systems and APIs.
• Implement Model Context Protocols (MCP) to manage persistent context, coordination between agents and tool usage.
• Develop Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, vector databases and prompt‑engineering strategies for context‑aware responses.
• Construct scalable backend services and deploy solutions on cloud (Azure, AWS) or on‑premise environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Stay current with emerging LLM and agentic technologies and evaluate their practical application.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in large language models and AI agent frameworks.
• Strong experience implementing Model Context Protocols or similar context‑management approaches.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and container orchestration.
• Ability to design robust, scalable AI systems that integrate with external tools and services.
