Agronomist Field Officer (National)

About the role

The Agronomist Field Officer will support the implementation of agricultural interventions in the Akkar region, working closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, local cooperatives and farmer groups. The role combines technical assessment of kits, delivery of on‑site training, and continuous monitoring to ensure sustainable practices across olive, fruit, vegetable, cereal and beekeeping value chains.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, register and validate farmers, ensuring kit composition (drip irrigation, seeds, fertilizer, beekeeping kits, greenhouse materials) matches agro‑ecological conditions and project objectives.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver 12 cycles of on‑site technical training (approximately 288 hours) for around 250 farmers, adapting curricula to local practices.
• Monitor kit usage in the field, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide corrective recommendations to the Field Coordinator and partner organizations.
• Maintain regular communication with the MoA Akkar Extension Office, cooperatives and project managers, reporting progress, risks and technical inputs for donor reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences or a closely related field.
• Fluency in Arabic and working proficiency in English for reporting and coordination.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel frequently across Akkar.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of olive, fruit, vegetable, cereal and beekeeping value chains relevant to the Akkar context.
• Experience designing and delivering farmer training and coaching programmes.
