Accounts Payable Analyst

About the role

Averda, a global provider of integrated waste management and environmental services, is looking for an AP Analyst. The role ensures that supplier invoices are processed quickly and accurately within the Accounts Payable cycle: invoices are captured, matched and posted within 24 hours, exceptions are managed and supplier accounts reconciled so that the AP ledger stays complete, accurate and auditable.

Key responsibilities

• Register, validate, match and post supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timelines, with correct coding, approvals, duplicate checks and supporting documentation.
• Maintain the exception list and follow up promptly on unresolved items; perform completeness and control checks and escalate delays and risks.
• Prepare AP ageing, payment proposals and GRNI reports, and process and allocate approved payments and issue remittance advices.
• Investigate aged invoices, debit balances and unallocated payments, and reconcile supplier statements and outstanding differences.
• Support accruals, period-end activities and AP-to-GL reconciliations, and complete AP controls, reporting and service performance measures.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, or part-qualified with ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent body.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a shared service center or a multi-entity group.

Required skills

• Three-way matching (PO, GRN and invoice) and tolerance rules.
• Tax invoice requirements in the markets served.
• Oracle EBS R12 Payables or a comparable ERP.
• Supplier statement reconciliation and ageing analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills.
