Accounting & Auditing Consultant – Abidjan

About the role

The Chief Accountant / Auditor will lead the structuring, review, and continuous improvement of client accounting functions in Abidjan. This hands‑on role ensures accurate, compliant, and reliable financial reporting while embedding sustainable accounting practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee accounting structuring and review engagements for client entities.
• Design and implement accounting frameworks, chart of accounts, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Conduct periodic (monthly/quarterly) accounting reviews to validate records and identify gaps.
• Assess existing accounting processes and systems, driving improvements to strengthen governance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Support clients in setting up and optimizing accounting systems and workflows.
• Provide structured reports, reconciliations, and executive summaries to management.
• Advise management on accounting implications of business decisions.
• Collaborate with client teams to manage expectations and ensure smooth implementation.
• Supervise, mentor, and train client accounting staff for sustainable best‑practice adoption.
• Contribute to the development of SD Group accounting methodologies and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred).
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and auditing, with proven leadership responsibilities.
• Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, financial regulations and compliance.
• Experience managing audit engagements and delivering financial advisory.
