About the role

Aspire Software is seeking an accountant to support its German entities from Lebanon. The role involves handling month‑end and year‑end close, preparing VAT filings, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end and year‑end close for German entities, including journal entries and accounting analysis.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist with their review.
• Follow up with vendors on missing invoices and prepare cost accruals for P&L review.
• Process payments, bank transfers and ensure proper approvals.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Prepare German VAT filings (Umsatzsteuervoranmeldung, Zusammenfassende Meldung) and support payroll tax filings with payroll provider and tax advisor.
• Assist with annual financial statements under HGB, statutory audits and tax filings.
• Maintain key controls, clean up messy ledgers, and establish proper structures.
• Prepare financial KPIs, reporting for the finance team and verify accuracy.
• Support monthly variance analysis of actuals against budget and forecast.
• Collaborate closely with the finance team on daily operations, reporting and special projects.
