Senior Back End Engineer - PHP Laravel ($5000+/month)

About the role

We are a remote‑first software agency with a presence in Lebanon and the United States, specializing in fintech and e‑commerce solutions. We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to lead development of a flagship e‑commerce and fintech platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of new backend features while ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Own technical solutions, translate business requirements into optimal architecture.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and help set their development goals.
• Introduce new tools and technologies to improve team productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on Laravel.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.
• Proven experience mentoring junior engineers.

Required skills

• PHP and Laravel framework.
• Object‑oriented programming, design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and complex SQL queries.
• Caching and queuing systems such as Redis.
• Version control with Git and Bitbucket, including branching strategies.
• Cloud services (AWS) and experience with serverless and containerized architectures.
• Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
