Plant Manager – Manufacturing Operations (Cairo)

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead its cosmetics and personal‑care production facility in Cairo. You will be responsible for overall plant performance, ensuring safety, quality, and profitability while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own full operational and financial accountability for the plant, including production output, cost control, and capital expenditure planning.
• Develop and execute production plans that meet demand while optimizing labor, material, and utility costs.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and all Egyptian regulatory requirements.
• Oversee quality processes in coordination with corporate QA and QC teams.
• Lead and develop department heads and staff across production, maintenance, facilities, and warehousing.
• Manage recruitment, performance planning, and talent development for key plant roles.
• Provide regular operational and performance reporting to the Board and senior leadership.
• Drive lean manufacturing and waste‑reduction initiatives across the plant.
• Maintain robust health, safety, and environmental practices and ensure compliance with local labor and industrial law.
• Manage relationships with local suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and manage the plant’s annual budget and capital‑expenditure proposals, tracking performance against targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field; MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years as a Plant Manager.
• Experience in FMCG, cosmetics, personal‑care, or pharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably in a GMP‑regulated environment.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑department teams of 50+ employees.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, and decision‑making skills under pressure.
