Lead, Employee Relations – Investigations

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Lead for Employee Relations (Investigations) to strengthen its global grievance investigation capability. You will ensure investigations are conducted fairly, consistently, and to a high professional standard while supporting a safe and respectful workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of specialist investigators, setting standards for investigative planning, methodology, evidence assessment, recommendations and report writing.
• Maintain robust quality‑assurance processes, providing senior challenge to ensure impartial, consistent, and defensible decisions.
• Oversee the grievance investigation caseload, ensuring swift, compliant, and proportionate handling of concerns while balancing workloads and meeting timelines.
• Conduct high‑risk investigations involving senior leaders, ensuring fairness and consistency.
• Identify systemic risks and emerging issues through case insights, contributing to organisational learning and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in employee relations, investigations, or related HR functions, preferably in an international or non‑profit environment.
• Proven ability to lead and develop investigative teams and manage complex, high‑risk cases.
• Strong analytical and judgment skills with a focus on fairness, consistency, and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
