Intermediate Software Developer (Backend-focused)

About the role

Aspire Software is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer to strengthen its backend capabilities while contributing to a modernizing product environment. The role blends legacy .NET maintenance with new Java‑based services and front‑end work using React and Node.js.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refactor APIs and services using Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Maintain and enhance existing ASP.NET (Web Forms, MVC, Web API) applications.
• Implement new features in React (hooks, component architecture) and Node.js.
• Collaborate on database schema design, stored procedures, and query optimization for SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Write automated tests and ensure feature quality across legacy and modern codebases.
• Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development while reviewing generated code for correctness.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving instincts and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to explain technical trade‑offs to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in environments where legacy and modern systems coexist.
