Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the Lebanon Country Office of Save the Children International in delivering accurate and timely financial operations. The role involves processing payments, managing petty cash, supporting banking activities, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with SCI policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process beneficiary and supplier payments for the Country Office and Area Offices in line with SCI procedures.
• Handle NSSF and income tax payments, ensuring proper documentation and timely completion.
• Prepare and post journal entries and other financial adjustments as required.
• Manage USD and LBP petty cash transactions, request replenishments, and maintain supporting records.
• Act as the focal point for banking matters, liaising with banks and maintaining banking documentation.
• Review and reconcile supplier statements, follow up on discrepancies.
• Handle travel and staff program advances and ensure all required signatures and documents are obtained.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to finance‑related queries.
• Undertake other finance‑related duties as assigned by the Finance Coordinator or management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field.
• Very good written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
• Willingness to work flexible hours during major humanitarian emergencies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard accounting principles and procedures.
