Field Application Engineer – BESS PCS & Lithium Battery Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Field Application Engineer specialized in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with a focus on Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and lithium‑ion batteries. The role involves overseeing installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of ESS for commercial‑and‑industrial (C&I) and utility‑scale projects across the MEA and Central America regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of PCS, BMS and EMS on site.
• Conduct functional tests, performance monitoring and system diagnostics.
• Ensure project milestones are met according to company standards and customer expectations.
• Act as the primary technical contact for customers during field operations, providing clear explanations of system performance and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection forms and checklists.
• Deliver technical training sessions for customers, service partners and internal teams.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for training and service activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, perform on‑site safety inspections and manage tool/equipment handling procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems or a related technical field.
• 4‑5 years of field service experience with BESS, including commissioning and maintenance of C&I and utility‑scale systems.
• Proven ability to lead projects and work independently in diverse locations.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the MEA and Central America regions and be on‑call during critical phases.

Required skills

• Power Conversion System (PCS) expertise.
• Battery Management System (BMS) knowledge.
• Energy Management System (EMS) experience.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and control schematics.
• Familiarity with SCADA and energy monitoring platforms.
• Understanding of HSE compliance and on‑site safety inspection procedures.
