Emergency Coordinator (F/M) – Lebanon

About the role

The Emergency Coordinator will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of Médecins du Monde’s emergency response in Lebanon. Reporting to the General Coordinator, the role ensures that emergency programmes are relevant, high‑quality and aligned with the organisation’s strategy while adapting to the rapidly changing humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and design of country‑wide emergency programmes, aligning them with MdM’s overall mission.
• Define logistical, financial and human‑resource requirements for emergency operations.
• Identify funding needs, draft concept notes and develop donor portfolios.
• Coordinate with field, medical, MHPSS, MEAL, logistics, HR, finance and security teams to ensure coherent programme delivery.
• Develop monitoring tools, oversee data collection and contribute to regular reporting.
• Represent MdM externally with partners, donors and other humanitarian actors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian emergency coordination, preferably in health‑related programmes.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities in complex, volatile environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
• Excellent understanding of project cycles, monitoring and evaluation processes.
