Climate Change Consultant – Regional Climate Initiatives

About the role

The Climate Change Consultant will support the preparation and execution of high‑level regional climate initiatives, including drafting meeting notes, fact sheets, presentations, and reports. The role involves close coordination with ESCWA and external partners to develop online platforms and e‑training tools in both Arabic and English.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and finalize documentation for the Operational Dialogue on Sand and Dust Storms and related knowledge‑management platforms.
• Prepare country fact sheets, presentations, and e‑training tools for the RICCAR Regional Workshop on Climate Impact and Vulnerability Assessments.
• Support the creation of a guidance document and annex on climate/green finance taxonomies, including Arabic summaries.
• Consolidate and map NDC 3.0 submissions of Arab States, focusing on finance, technology, capacity‑building, and sector‑specific commitments.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to organise meetings, manage online platforms, and provide ad‑hoc climate‑change support.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in climate change, environmental policy, or related fields.
• Experience in drafting technical documents, reports, and policy briefs.
• Strong coordination skills with ability to work with international partners.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
