Accounting & Auditing Consultant – Abidjan

About the role

The Accounting & Auditing Consultant will lead the accounting and financial reporting functions for client entities and internal operations, based in Abidjan with travel across Lebanon and other African countries. The role combines audit oversight, financial advisory, and team leadership to ensure compliance with best practices and SD Group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all accounting and financial reporting activities, guaranteeing accuracy and transparency.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Plan, execute, and oversee internal audit and financial review engagements across multiple projects and locations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory regulations, tax requirements, and organizational policies.
• Evaluate financial processes and control environments, recommending improvements to strengthen governance.
• Provide financial, accounting, and audit advisory services, supporting the setup and optimization of client finance structures.
• Deliver financial insights, performance analysis, and executive summaries to support decision‑making.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and audit team members, and provide training to client finance teams when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and auditing, including leadership and team management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, financial regulations and compliance.
• Proven experience managing audit engagements and delivering financial advisory or consulting services.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
