WatHab Capacity Development Project Manager

About the role

The WatHab Capacity Development Project Manager is responsible for designing, planning and implementing water and habitat assistance programmes within detention facilities. The role supports the ICRC’s mission to improve living conditions for detainees by delivering safe water, sanitation and shelter solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define programme objectives by continuously monitoring detainee needs and aligning with ICRC strategic goals.
• Establish priorities, develop strategies and design participatory projects in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Prepare project documentation such as drawings, bills of quantities and contracts using approved formats.
• Oversee implementation to ensure compliance with project documents, ICRC standards and local building codes, taking corrective actions when required.
• Maintain quality control, track progress and report on outcomes to senior management.
• Manage stakeholder relations, including coordination with detention authorities and partner organisations.

Required profile

• Legally eligible to work in Lebanon.
• Proven experience in water and habitat projects, preferably in humanitarian or detention contexts.
• Strong project management and planning abilities.
• Good understanding of construction standards and local building regulations.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with diverse partners.

Required skills

• Project documentation preparation (drawings, bills of quantities, contracts).
• Knowledge of local building codes and compliance requirements.
