UI/UX Designer

About the role

York Press is building a new generation of e‑learning platforms for schools, teachers, students, and parents across the MENA region. As a UI/UX Designer you will shape the experience of these products from the earliest design phases through to implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full design cycle – research, definition, ideation, and high‑fidelity UI.
• Conduct competitive analysis and create user personas for teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
• Map user journeys, define problem statements, and produce information architecture, sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Build and maintain a design system and component library for direct engineering implementation.
• Design age‑appropriate experiences, including English and Arabic RTL layouts.
• Integrate accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) from the start.
• Collaborate weekly with product, engineering, and content teams to align design direction before development.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of UI/UX design experience delivering real web applications.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end work from research to polished UI.
• Expert proficiency with Figma, including components, variants, auto‑layout, and prototyping.
• Experience designing complex, data‑heavy applications such as dashboards or SaaS tools.
• Solid understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and mobile‑first responsive design.
• Ability to create or contribute to a design system and communicate design decisions clearly.
