Survey Methodology Expert (12-month consultancy)

About the role

Frontiers Rights (FRH) is seeking a Survey Methodology Expert to lead the design and implementation of a 12‑month Bekaa Statelessness Survey in Lebanon. The consultant will work closely with the FRH team to develop robust quantitative tools, manage field operations, ensure data quality, and produce actionable statistical outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Design the overall survey methodology, sampling framework and data collection instruments.
• Develop and pilot digital questionnaires using platforms such as KoboToolbox, ODK or SurveyCTO.
• Oversee field preparation, training of enumerators and implementation of data collection activities.
• Monitor and guarantee data quality throughout the survey cycle.
• Perform quantitative analysis, generate statistical tables and visualisations.
• Interpret findings and contribute to the final mapping report.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Statistics, Sociology, Demography, Social Research, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in quantitative survey design, sampling, questionnaire development and field implementation.
• Proven experience with digital data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO).
• Excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication skills.
• Previous work with NGOs, UN agencies or international organisations is an asset.
• Knowledge of statelessness, legal identity or civil registration is desirable but not mandatory.
