Senior HSSE Specialist – Safety Manager for Power Plant Construction

About the role

Qualus is seeking a Senior HSSE Specialist to lead safety management for the construction of two power plants. The role provides on‑site safety oversight, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement of safety processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support construction activities at two power‑plant sites located about an hour apart.
• Provide safety oversight to the EPC contractor and enforce safety standards.
• Prepare, analyze, and submit safety reports to meet legal and company requirements.
• Research regulatory changes (federal and state) and recommend updates to policies.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.
• Investigate incidents, develop corrective actions, and deliver safety training to internal groups.
• Serve as technical advisor for safety committees and conduct public safety presentations as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of safety experience, preferably in power generation.
• OSHA certification and CSP certification.
• Strong ability to work independently and make safety‑critical decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
