Senior Accountant

About the role

GlobeMed Levant, part of the GlobeMed Group and the largest healthcare benefits management company in the MENA region, is looking for a Senior Accountant. The role covers standard accounting functions such as journal entries, cost analysis, reconciliation and posting, under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Record journal entries and ensure proper filing with supporting documents.
• Handle daily bank transactions, prepare bank transfer letters and work on bank reconciliation.
• Prepare and deliver checks to suppliers, and prepare the payment planner and bank movement.
• Conduct periodic reconciliation of accounts (banks, AP, AR).
• Manage petty cash transactions.
• Issue monthly and quarterly invoices and prepare the billing report of invoices billed to G-Operations.
• Review travel requests, prepare travel advances and reconcile travel expense statements.
• Assist in cost accounting functions and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Required profile

• BA degree in accounting, finance or a similar field.
• 3-6 years of experience in accounting.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; French is an asset.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize and escalate issues appropriately.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Use of any other accounting system.
