Senior Accountant

About the role

Amaken is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support a leading construction company in Congo. The role involves managing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and providing project‑related financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and cash/bank transactions.
• Record, reconcile, and maintain accurate financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly and year‑end closings, trial balances, financial statements, and management reports.
• Handle supplier and subcontractor invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliations.
• Allocate construction project expenses to appropriate cost centres and monitor budgets, commitments, and variations.
• Review purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documents for compliance.
• Manage customer invoicing, collections, and outstanding balance reconciliation.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with payroll, employee expenses, and related accounting entries.
• Support external auditors with required documentation.
• Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 4‑7 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, contracting or engineering.
• Proven experience with project accounting and cost tracking.
• Familiarity with supplier, subcontractor and project‑related invoicing.
