Registered Nurse - Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

About the role

Provide patient‑centered nursing care with a focus on specialized assessment and monitoring of patients with epilepsy and other neurological conditions. The role includes performing diagnostic procedures, administering medications and supporting patients and families throughout their care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized nursing assessment, monitoring, and care for adult and pediatric patients with epilepsy, seizures, and other neurological conditions.
• Conduct electroencephalograms (EEG), long‑term monitoring, and other diagnostic procedures, and recognize and respond to seizure activity.
• Administer prescribed medications and SPECT dye during EEG and related diagnostic procedures, monitoring patient response.
• Document assessments, interventions, procedures, and clinical information in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe, coordinated, and quality patient care.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, nursing license from the Ministry of Public Health, and registration with the Order of Nurses in Lebanon.
• 3–5 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in neurology or caring for patients with seizure disorders, preferably at AUBMC.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (IELTS ≥ 500).
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Required skills

• Operation of electroencephalogram (EEG) equipment.
• Long‑term monitoring procedures for neurological patients.
• Administration of SPECT dye during diagnostic testing.
• Use of Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication.
