Regional Business Development Manager – Africa

About the role

SIMTEC, a specialist engineering and construction firm, is seeking a Regional Business Development Manager for Africa. The role will drive growth across selected African markets by identifying, developing, and closing large‑scale project opportunities with contractors, developers, consultants and institutional clients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across target African countries.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, construction firms, developers, consultants, architects and public or private institutions.
• Prospect for new clients and projects, set strategic meetings and deliver commercial presentations on SIMTEC’s capabilities.
• Map the construction and infrastructure landscape, track upcoming projects and position SIMTEC ahead of competitors.
• Manage major project opportunities from initial contact through commercial closing, coordinating with internal engineering, estimation and project teams.
• Collect and relay project specifications, drawings, BOQs and timelines to ensure accurate pricing and technical proposals.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the engineering and construction sector, particularly steel structures and metal systems.
• Proven experience working with contractors, construction companies and senior decision‑makers.
• Excellent networking ability and a track record of generating qualified leads and closing large projects.
• Willingness to travel frequently across African countries.
