Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and acquiring a wide range of goods and services needed by the organization. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery, cost‑effectiveness and compliance with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and select suppliers, request quotations and negotiate the most competitive offers.
• Process internal requests for spares, equipment, consumables and services, ensuring requirements are clearly understood.
• Issue purchase orders, obtain approvals, confirm supplier acceptance and continuously update order status in the BIS system.
• Monitor delivery schedules, manage logistics (insurance, shipment, customs clearance, land transport) and verify that invoices match purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation both electronically (BIS) and in paper files.
• Escalate any budget, delivery or quality deviations for prompt mitigation.
• Update approved supplier lists, catalogs and price lists to keep procurement data current.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal users to support project needs.
• Provide technical guidance and documentation to estimation, project and design teams during bidding and execution phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant procurement experience.
• European citizenship is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel for missions.
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Fluent written and spoken English; working knowledge of French.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BIS procurement system.
• General computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
