Platform Engineer

About the role

BigHand is building a cloud‑native, AI‑enabled SaaS platform for legal professionals. As a Platform Engineer you will design, operate and continuously improve the underlying cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and scalability for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate highly available SaaS platforms, supporting cloud migration, containerisation with Kubernetes and Docker, and modern PaaS/IaaS architectures.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automation tools to standardise, secure and scale deployments.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Architecture teams to deliver secure, cost‑effective cloud platforms aligned with business goals.
• Lead platform operations including incident management, observability, patching, upgrades and continuous service improvement.
• Embed security and compliance best practices such as OWASP, ISO27001 and SOC2 controls across the platform.
• Contribute to innovation and operational excellence by improving processes, documentation and platform standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure or Software Engineering.
• Strong background in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
