Microsoft Purview Implementation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Microsoft Purview Implementation Engineer to design, implement and optimise data security and governance solutions for our clients. This remote position will focus on leveraging Microsoft Purview and related Microsoft security technologies to protect data across cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimise Data Security & Governance solutions using Microsoft Purview, DLP, Insider Risk Management, DSPM, CASB and related tools.
• Implement and manage data classification, labeling, retention, and compliance policies across Microsoft 365 services.
• Configure and operate Microsoft Purview Data Map, Microsoft Priva, and Azure Information Protection (AIP) On‑Premises Scanner.
• Integrate cloud security controls with on‑premises firewalls and CASB solutions.
• Automate security policy deployment using PowerShell, APIs and Microsoft Security & Compliance tools.
• Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, from high‑level and low‑level design through post‑deployment support.
• Conduct risk assessments, data‑flow analysis and support DSPM initiatives.
• Mentor junior team members and deliver workshops for administrators and end users.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience implementing data security, compliance and governance solutions.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, NCA and ISO 27001.
• Proven ability to manage projects within agreed timelines, scope and budget.

• Microsoft Purview (Information Protection, DLP, Data Classification, Retention, Compliance Portal, Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery, Audit).
• Microsoft 365 security services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams).
• Azure Information Protection (AIP) On‑Premises Scanner and Microsoft Priva.
• PowerShell scripting and API integration for automation.
• Microsoft Intune, Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Application Management (MAM) and Conditional Access.
• High‑Level Design (HLD) and Low‑Level Design (LLD) documentation.
