About the role
The Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer will design, build, and operate enterprise‑scale data platforms on Microsoft Fabric, focusing on data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and automation. This role is centered on data engineering and platform development rather than reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement Lakehouse architectures using OneLake and Delta Lake, including Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Gold) models.
- Build and maintain batch, incremental, CDC, and near‑real‑time ingestion pipelines with Fabric Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, PySpark, and SQL.
- Optimize Fabric Lakehouses, Data Warehouses and Spark workloads for performance, scalability and cost.
- Implement CI/CD, automated testing, and release management using Fabric Git Integration, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Ensure data quality, governance, security and compliance through automated validation, lineage, sensitivity labels and access controls.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of data engineering experience and at least 2 years with Microsoft Fabric or similar Lakehouse platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field.
