MEAL Assistant – Part-time (Beirut, Lebanon)

About the role

The MEAL Assistant will work under the supervision of the MEAL Officer to support the implementation and improvement of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems for health and nutrition projects in Beirut. The role involves field monitoring, data collection, validation, and documentation to ensure high‑quality quantitative and qualitative information.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out field monitoring visits to health centers, shelters, and community activities, documenting findings and beneficiary feedback.
• Support the adaptation and use of approved MEAL tools such as checklists, exit surveys, satisfaction surveys, and post‑distribution monitoring forms.
• Assist in preparing, testing, and administering questionnaires for focus‑group discussions and key‑informant interviews.
• Conduct beneficiary interviews, validation calls, and post‑distribution monitoring according to sampling plans and confidentiality standards.
• Update indicator‑tracking databases (e.g., LogAlto) and compile data for regular reporting.
• Identify and resolve routine data‑quality issues, escalating complex matters to the MEAL Officer.

Required profile

• Under supervision, able to follow standardized MEAL procedures for data collection, verification, and confidentiality.
• Comfortable interacting professionally with beneficiaries, partners, and field teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet agreed deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience with data‑entry and validation tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring databases such as LogAlto.
