English Teacher

About the role

The school seeks an English teacher who ensures students' academic success and supports them in reaching their full potential by implementing the SABIS curriculum and philosophy and applying its teaching methods. The role covers teaching, marking, exam supervision and supporting students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using provided lesson plans, which may include developing plans from pacing charts, and apply the SABIS point system in the classroom
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department
• Discuss student disciplinary and academic concerns with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department
• Proctor exams and provide support, guidance and motivation to low-performing students
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers according to the revision schedule
• Assist with testing, substitution, organizing students for lunch and buses, crowd control and other administrative tasks
• Take part in student life events such as art, open houses and physical education, in coordination with the Student Life Coordinator
• Attend training sessions and perform other tasks delegated by school management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• English proficiency
• At least 1 year of teaching experience
• Accountability, professional behaviour, teamwork, communication, flexibility, time management and continuous improvement
• Meets country and local education and certification requirements, and passes reference and criminal background checks
