Development Facilitator

About the role

The Development Facilitator will act as a catalyst and partnership broker, supporting community‑led initiatives that improve the well‑being of vulnerable children and their families. This fixed‑term position works directly with local partners, volunteers and sponsors to ensure effective child sponsorship programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate community understanding of child sponsorship, respond to queries sensitively, and coordinate with Sponsorship Operators to meet programme requirements.
• Build capacity of volunteers, casual workers and partner organisations through training, workshops and community sensitisation activities.
• Coordinate registration, monitoring and follow‑up of Registered Children, ensuring parental consent and accurate documentation such as video greetings and progress reports.
• Manage sponsorship processes, including correspondence (thank‑you letters, gift notifications, annual reports) and resolve any sponsorship‑related issues.
• Develop and implement community‑based activities that promote child participation using child‑friendly methods and tools.
• Support the Development Coordinator in project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and data collection.
• Maintain security and safeguarding standards, report child protection incidents and contribute to a positive security culture.
