Commercial Accountant – Pricing & Job Costing

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Commercial Accountant to own end‑to‑end commercial pricing, job costing and management reporting for our custom B2B packaging business. The role combines operational financial analysis with strategic budgeting and forecasting to protect margins.

Key responsibilities

• Build accurate client estimates and pricing models for custom packaging orders, accounting for raw material costs, tooling, labor, scrap and logistics.
• Prepare monthly management packs for executive leadership, reporting gross margins, cost variances and overhead absorption.
• Lead the annual operational budgeting process and create dynamic rolling forecasts, factoring material price indices and order volume changes.
• Partner with Sales and Production to audit low‑margin runs, track machine overhead and labor variances, and eliminate cost leakage.

Required profile

• Direct experience in B2B packaging, print, paper converting, FMCG or custom manufacturing with hands‑on job costing exposure.
• Strong foundation in management accounting, financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Commercial mindset with understanding of unit economics, batch sizes, waste factors and raw material shifts.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
