Civil & Finishing Technician

About the role

The Facilities Management Department at the Lebanese American University seeks a Civil & Finishing Technician to maintain buildings, grounds, and university assets on the Beirut campus. The role involves preventive maintenance, supervising outsourced works, and supporting event set‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Paint interior and exterior surfaces of structures and buildings.
• Maintain and repair assembled furniture, cabinets, shelves, chairs, desks, and other campus items.
• Inspect campus locations, perform civil repairs, and monitor scaffolding and construction structures.
• Install and maintain gypsum wallboards and modular false ceilings.
• Handle epoxy floor maintenance for indoor parking areas.
• Cut and duplicate keys, and service aluminum and steel works such as doors, sliding windows, frameless glass doors, and curtain walls.
• Support set‑up for university events and activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil and finishing maintenance.
• Brevet (technical diploma) or equivalent.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
• Good verbal and written communication in English and Arabic.
• Physically fit for frequent standing, walking, climbing, and lifting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet research.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (a plus).
• Experience using hand and power tools safely.
• Key cutting and duplication skills.
