Child Protection Officer

About the role

The Child Protection Officer will lead daily implementation of Save the Children’s child protection programme, overseeing psychosocial activities for children and youth, supporting caregivers, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute monthly and weekly work plans, coordinating with supply chain, finance and HR to support field activities.
• Lead needs‑assessment interviews, monitor progress, and resolve implementation challenges.
• Conduct field visits to verify quality standards and produce weekly and monthly quantitative and qualitative reports.
• Integrate child protection interventions with other core sectors such as education, shelter, and food security.
• Provide technical training and coaching to team members, identify staffing needs, lead recruitment, and set performance objectives.
• Offer daily technical and operational support to implementing partners and monitor their activity quality.

Required profile

• Level 3 child safeguarding clearance with regular contact with children or young people.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to emergency contexts.
• Experience in designing and managing child protection or psychosocial programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Strong coordination skills with multiple stakeholders and sectors.
