Biomedical Engineer Consultant – Long Term Agreement (Remote, Lebanon)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Biomedical Engineer Consultant to support the planning, procurement, installation and lifecycle management of medical equipment for primary health care centres, hospitals and other health facilities in Lebanon. The role is remote, based in Lebanon, and will be engaged on an as‑needed basis under a Long‑Term Agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct equipment and infrastructure assessments for health facilities.
• Develop technical specifications and tender documents for medical devices.
• Provide technical advice during procurement, bid evaluation and contract implementation.
• Assess site readiness, recommend infrastructure modifications and oversee installation and commissioning.
• Verify compliance with relevant standards and support capacity building for equipment operation and maintenance.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in medical equipment selection, specification development and installation oversight.
• Familiarity with health‑facility infrastructure requirements and standards.
• Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
