Thinner Department Officer

About the role

The Thinner Department Officer oversees the production and delivery of thinner products, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards. This position coordinates with multiple departments, manages personnel, and guarantees timely fulfillment of client orders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and executing daily production schedules based on sales, export, and warehouse requests.
• Prepare batch formulas in coordination with the Quality Control department.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend updates.
• Request, inspect, and receive raw and packaging materials from warehouses.
• Maintain accurate production records using PIMS.
• Assist in inventory counts and investigate major variances.
• Identify and report maintenance issues for timely resolution.
• Supervise department personnel to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace while enforcing safety and PPE regulations.
• Identify potential risks and report them to the Production Manager and QHS officer.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and problem‑solving workshops.
• Participate in performance appraisals and suggest areas for improvement.
• Follow up on requisition orders related to the thinner department.
• Monitor daily attendance and conduct monthly worker evaluations.
• Monitor, count, and maintain inventory levels of raw materials and production supplies.
• Receive raw materials for batch formulation and inspect for compliance with specifications.
• Supervise manufacturing of the final product, including filling, labeling, and delivery to the warehouse.
• Perform and verify calibration of balances and cleanliness of machines and equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to track inventory accurately and generate reports.

Required skills

• Computer literacy.
• Working knowledge of inventory management software (PIMS).
