Protection Officer

About the role

The Protection Officer will provide specialised case management and psychosocial support to people at heightened risk, including women, older persons and persons with disabilities, within DRC's humanitarian programmes in Lebanon.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop recovery action plans and coordinate referrals for people with specific needs.
• Deliver age‑ and disability‑appropriate individual counselling and psychosocial support in both mobile and static safe spaces.
• Identify vulnerable individuals through home visits, referrals and coordination with partners.
• Maintain accurate case files in protection information management systems while ensuring data confidentiality.
• Collaborate with DRC protection teams and external service providers to secure access to needed services.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans and reports.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian case management, psychosocial support or protection services.
• Knowledge of international protection standards and best‑practice guidelines.
• Ability to work with diverse vulnerable groups while respecting confidentiality and non‑discrimination principles.
• Strong organisational skills for data handling and reporting.
