Project Associate (WASH)

About the role

The Project Associate (WASH) will support the implementation of water, sanitation, hygiene, shelter and settlement interventions in Lebanon under the supervision of the Programme Coordinator and Senior Program Associate. The role contributes to humanitarian assistance, stabilization and early recovery activities in line with donor requirements and IOM standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities addressing shelter and WASH needs.
• Retrieve, compile, summarise, analyse and present data on specific project topics.
• Monitor the project budget by verifying fund availability, obtaining approvals and updating budget information.
• Act as the focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, liaising with government authorities, UN agencies and NGOs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with five years of experience.
• Proven experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and working with migrants, refugees or other vulnerable groups in conflict‑affected areas of Lebanon.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox and ODK.
• Knowledge of SPSS and report writing.
• Ability to conduct field research and prepare research reports.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with migration‑related subject areas.
