Learning Support Teacher – Special Education

About the role

The Learning Support Teacher provides specialised assistance to students across the Academy, ensuring a safe and productive academic environment. Working within the SABIS educational framework, the role supports both classroom teaching and broader student life activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction using SABIS pacing charts and the point system for assigned subjects.
• Mark examinations and provide timely feedback according to departmental schedules.
• Collaborate with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department on disciplinary and performance matters.
• Invigilate exams and maintain a controlled testing environment.
• Support low‑performing students through targeted interventions and motivation strategies.
• Prepare students for external examinations by reviewing past papers and following structured revision plans.
• Assist with administrative duties such as student testing, substitute teaching, lunch and bus organisation, and traffic control.
• Participate in student life events, including art, open house, and physical education activities.
• Attend training sessions to enhance understanding of SABIS processes and special education best practices.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience in special education or learning support.
• Ability to oversee student welfare and maintain a safe academic setting.
• Strong collaboration skills with Student Life and Student Management teams.
• Commitment to following SABIS policies and reporting requirements.
