Accounts Payable Accountant (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join ABYAT’s finance team on a remote basis. The role focuses on processing non‑trading purchase orders, vendor invoices and ensuring accurate cost allocation for our extensive retail operations.

Key responsibilities

• Release non‑trading purchase orders according to the approved authority matrix.
• Review, verify and post non‑trading vendor invoices against purchase orders and goods received.
• Clear and reconcile the non‑trading GR/IR clearing account and parked invoices.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of non‑trading vendor accounts and quarterly balance confirmations.
• Maintain organized vendor files and ensure easy accessibility of invoices, payments and related documents.
• Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve issues and maintain strong relationships.
• Monitor cost allocation to activities to guarantee timely and accurate accounting of payables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3‑5 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Fluent in Arabic and good command of English.
• Excellent communication and follow‑up abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Experience with SAP ERP systems.
