Procurement Officer

About the role

Based at BanoPuratos in Lebanon, we are seeking a Procurement Officer (Bshamoun) to implement procurement strategies, obtain best value for money and achieve sustainable cost reductions by managing the day‑to‑day procurement cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Procurement Manager in developing the department’s strategic plan.
• Prepare stock analysis reports, considering item movement and feedback from Area Sales Managers, and submit them promptly.
• Coordinate the requisition process by reviewing proformas and quotations, issuing purchase orders and related documents.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, including items, quantities, due dates, special instructions, terms, conditions and receipt dates.
• Verify inventory levels, keep records to prevent gaps, and prepare daily procurement cycle reports to ensure timely product delivery.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date supplier database with accurate information.
• Arrange insurance for upcoming shipments to avoid damage or loss in transit.
• Ensure special orders are signed by customers and entered into the ERP system.
• Provide Certificates of Analysis and Technical Data Sheets to customers on request.
• Review customs documents, coordinate with shipping agencies to resolve discrepancies and avoid demurrage fees.
• Follow up with suppliers on updates, order status, material specifications and other inquiries.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of stock management or goods purchasing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (Masters in Logistics is a plus).
• Fluent in English; Arabic; French is a plus.
• Knowledge of procurement cycle, policies and procedures.
• Ability to analyse data from multiple sources and produce accurate reports.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
• Capable of multitasking, working under stress and meeting deadlines.
• Analytical skills to manage departmental data effectively.
