Network Engineer – Routing & Security

About the role

The Network Engineer will collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of our networks and systems. You will resolve complex packet‑analysis issues, provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, and manage requests for routers, firewalls, and WAN optimization devices.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and manage routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VLANs.
• Design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security protocols.
• Utilise network monitoring tools to analyse performance data and identify issues.
• Manage and optimise network performance, ensuring high reliability and security.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Conduct regular performance monitoring and capacity planning for future growth.
• Develop and maintain up‑to‑date documentation for configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Implement and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to protect against web‑based attacks.
• Coordinate cross‑functional projects and handle Level 2/3 escalations on‑call.
• Stay current with industry trends and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• CCNA, CCNP or other networking certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies and experience with firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Professional proficiency in the local language and English.
• Knowledge of information security and privacy standards (ISO 27001/27701).
• Understanding of security incident response and data‑breach procedures.
• Experience implementing technical security controls and access management.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
