Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Coordinator (Local Consultant)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) seeks a qualified Local Consultant to coordinate Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities in its schools across Tyre and the North Lebanon Area. Reporting to the MHPSS Officer, you will help integrate wellbeing initiatives into the educational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans for MHPSS programmes in collaboration with Area Education Officers and school principals.
• Assess training needs of school counsellors and management, and design capacity‑building activities.
• Deliver and monitor awareness sessions for caregivers, children, youth, and community members.
• Integrate MHPSS components into recreational and sport activities for various age groups.
• Coordinate with education, child protection, and psychosocial actors to ensure comprehensive support services.
• Prepare reports, present findings to the MHPSS Officer, and submit final integration outcomes.

Required profile

• University degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Clinical Social Work (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of direct MHPSS case management experience.
• At least 3 years delivering capacity‑building trainings in psychosocial support or child protection.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
