Group Chief Marketing Officer – Automotive – West Africa

About the role

We are seeking a visionary Group Chief Marketing Officer (GCMO) to lead the unified marketing, brand, and digital strategy for a diversified automotive conglomerate operating across West Africa. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, you will shape regional brand equity while driving high‑volume retail and B2B trade initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and protect the positioning of a multi‑industry brand portfolio across West African markets.
• Collaborate with Business Unit heads to align group‑level brand strategy with local sales objectives.
• Design and execute regional go‑to‑market campaigns tailored to Anglophone and Francophone markets.
• Develop trade‑marketing programs for both modern corporate accounts and informal traditional trade networks.
• Lead adoption of MarTech, e‑commerce platforms, and advanced CRM infrastructure across subsidiaries.
• Establish data‑driven metrics such as CAC, CLTV, and digital conversion rates.
• Own the Group Marketing P&L, allocate budget, and ensure measurable ROI.
• Select and manage regional and international creative, PR, and media agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics or related field; MBA or executive certification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive commercial marketing experience, including at least 7 years in a C‑suite or senior executive role.
• Proven track record managing multi‑country consumer dynamics and regional trade integration (ECOWAS).
