Environmental & Social Manager (Location Flexible)

About the role

The Environmental & Social Manager will lead the design, implementation and oversight of the Group’s Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS). This role ensures compliance with international standards such as IFC Performance Standards and World Bank Group EHS Guidelines, and supports the execution of the Environmental & Social Action Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of a Group‑level ESMS aligned with IFC Performance Standards.
• Drive execution, tracking and reporting of all Environmental & Social Action Plan (ESAP) actions.
• Establish and maintain E&S governance structures across the Group and its subsidiaries.
• Identify, assess and monitor environmental and social risks, ensuring legal compliance.
• Develop and oversee programmes on resource efficiency, climate, waste management and supply‑chain sustainability.
• Support labour and working‑condition initiatives in line with IFC Performance Standard 2.
• Design and deliver an annual E&S training programme for staff.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and manage grievance mechanisms.
• Set up monitoring systems and prepare E&S performance reports for senior management and investors.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Sustainability or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in environmental and social risk management.
• Proven experience developing and implementing ESMS frameworks.
• Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and development‑finance institution requirements.
• Experience in the telecommunications, ICT or connectivity sector is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFC Performance Standards and World Bank Group EHS Guidelines.
• Experience in ESAP implementation and E&S risk management.
• Understanding of climate risk, ESG reporting and sustainability frameworks.
• Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools.
