Caseworker – Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) Protection

About the role

The VAWG Caseworker provides direct, survivor‑centered support to vulnerable women, girls, and survivors of violence. This role involves comprehensive case management, psychosocial assistance, and coordination with multiple humanitarian partners to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver age‑appropriate case management and basic counselling in line with Inter‑Agency Case Management Guidelines.
• Assess survivor needs, develop care and safety plans, and facilitate access to additional services.
• Distribute emergency cash and material assistance based on individual assessments and established protocols.
• Provide information on available services, support informed choices, and coordinate referrals, accompaniment, and follow‑up.
• Document all service provision, maintain confidential case files, and adhere to data protection standards.
• Participate in regular case review meetings, coaching sessions, and post‑distribution monitoring.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, humanitarian partners, and service providers to strengthen access and advocacy.
• Coordinate with MHPSS, child protection, health, and other sectors to ensure integrated referrals.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and uphold survivor‑centered principles, including non‑discrimination and equality.

Required profile

• Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience providing case management or psychosocial support to survivors of gender‑based violence.
• Strong understanding of protection standards and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.
• Ability to work independently, seek supervision when needed, and maintain professional boundaries.
